Thank you for being part of the story of this place and donating towards our new statue of Saint Jude in the Garden of Hope. I wanted to update you on what has happened since we received your donation.

Our sculptor, Borys Burrough, worked very hard last year to create a new statue of Saint Jude that utilised the design of the statues already here – and create this new one. Here he is proudly holding the new statue before it was placed deep into the ground. He created a long base, so that it could go deep into the ground and be there for a long time to come.

Borys Burrough is a London-based sculptor and QEST scholar with an MA in wood carving from The City & Guilds of London Art School, where he now also teaches. Borys is an ornamental wood carver, restorer and gilder, with a specialisation in ecclesiastical sculpture and antique picture frames. He has created many statues for many different religious houses around the world.

On 18 March 2025, amongst members of the Faversham community and the Shrine Office team, the Prior Provincial Fr. Brendan Grady blessed the new statue of Saint Jude in the Garden of Hope. It is now in place for you to come and see.

Thank you again for all your support of the Shrine and the work we do here.
