Thank you to all the friends of Saint Jude who came to see us yesterday for the Summer Celebration!

We were particularly privileged that the new mayor of Faversham, Cllr Alison Reynolds and Faversham town councillor, Cllr Denise Knights were able to join us. Cllr Reynolds spoke to the friends of Saint Jude before our Mass and has kindly given us permission to share her speech, which we will do so later this week.

Also, we were very pleased to welcome for the first time the Faversham Gunpowder WI who provided all the refreshments during the day: tea, coffee, lovely sandwiches, glorious cakes and great cheer. Thank you to the President and WI for facilitating this.

It was a wonderful sunny day filled with hope and joy.

Many thanks to all our volunteers who came to help; to the Prior Provincial, Fr Kevin Alban for celebrating Mass, to Fr Brendan and the Faversham community for all they did during the day (and before and after!); and to the brilliant music group.

Thanks too to Matt, Nic, Bev, Jilly and Sarah in the Shrine Office team for all they did in the run up, during and afterwards.
