Feast of Saint Jude Celebrations: Day 2
news: 25 October 2026
The British Carmelite Prior Provincial, Fr. Brendan Grady, O.Carm once again celebrated Mass in the church. He spoke about how we should all try and be ambassadors of hope – spreading the message of Saint Jude when they go back home. Mgr. Canon Vincent Harvey (Portsmouth Diocese) concelebrated with him.
One pilgrim said: “I have never been here before, but I want you to know that Shrine is truly a place of peace and hope – I was so happy to finally be here with so many friends and pilgrims of Saint Jude. Thank you to your team for their care and attention”.
We were pleased to welcome members of the Carmelite Reading Community once more, and the local Faversham community were in attendance throughout too. The weather was beautifully sunny today (complete contrast to yesterday) and we were able to enjoy the gardens surrounding the Shrine a little bit more today.
Those friends of Saint Jude that could not attend were prayed for by pilgrims and friars, plus many of friends across the world joined the Novena to Saint Jude each night including tonight which was led by Fr. Gerard Walsh, O. Carm.
