Footprints of Hope

ONE LAST OPPORTUNITY TO DONATE FOR A ‘FOOTPRINT OF HOPE’ AT THE SHRINE

Earlier this year, the Shrine of Saint Jude lay bricks on a new path for our ‘Footprints of Hope’ project. The path is a beautiful addition to the Shrine map, but we’re pleased to advise we have a few more spaces left.

We therefore want to offer friends of Saint Jude one more opportunity to have a special name engraved on a brick.

Make your mark and remember your friends and loved ones in a special place of hope and peace - this is your last opportunity to add a chosen name(s) for just £42 per brick. There is now no limit to how many bricks you can order. All bricks need to be ordered by Friday 6 December 2024, but please send your form ASAP as we only have a few spaces available.

Your brick will be set on this new path from the Whitefriars Contemplative Gardens to the Garden of Hope and will be available for many years to come.

Donate for your footprint, here or call 01795 539 214.

The 'Footprints of Hope' are situated outside the Welcome Centre/Shrine Information Centre and lead to the 'Garden of Hope'.

You can donate towards the 'Footprints' project, which will go towards the building of all the paths and the refurbishment of the Welcome Centre into a new community hub.

Thank you to all friends of Saint Jude for supporting this initiative.

One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."
