Time of Prayer with Saint Jude (online)

Thursday, September 26, 2024 - 17:00 to 18:00

Each year, the devotions at the National Shrine of Saint Jude in Faversham includes veneration of a relic of Saint Jude, but we would also like to offer this service online each month for those who live far and wide.

Relics are the mortal remains of God's holy men and women. They are not lucky charms or objects of superstition. They are physical reminders of a spiritual connection with someone we love. Relics, like family keepsakes, give us a sense of connection with one who has gone before us. They help our faith move from being simply a 'head matter' to something embodied in the heart. The blessings of technology mean it can be venerated through the internet.

To allow all our pilgrims a chance to pray with Saint Jude’s relic, the Carmelites will be showing a live-stream of the relic on the last Thursday of the month at 5pm. Through your mobile phone, tablet, or computer screen, you can spiritually reach out to the relic, and be reminded how close Saint Jude is to you. During the live-feed you will have the chance to pray in silence, as well as to join in the 'Litany of Saint Jude', recited at the National Shrine. We hope that this hour of reflection and prayer will be a time of healing, hope and grace. Please do join us via this page from 5pm till 6pm on the last Thursday of every month.
