The Shrine of St. Jude supports the ministries of the Carmelite Friars in Great Britain and enables the friars to support the work of the Carmelite Missions. In particular the donations received support the formation and training of new members of the Order.

In Britain the friars are engaged in a variety of ministries amongst which are: parish, retreats, pilgrimages, university chaplaincy, media, ecumenical, publishing, teaching, health care and inner city.

As well as directly supporting the ministries of the Order in Britain the generosity of our donors has allowed us in 2004 to send:

£75,000.00 to build a formation house for young Carmelites in East Timor
£50,000.00 to support the building of a formation house for young Carmelites in Cameroon
£10,000.00 to support evangelisation projects in the Czech Republic
